My #1 girl

When Rebekah was born, I had the joy of falling in love with J.R. all over again. It was so beautiful to see this side of him I'd never seen before.

Since Mary Alex was born, I've had the joy of falling more in love with Rebekah as I watch her love her baby sister.

My first born is a sweet girl.

Putting pigtails in my hair. She wants pigtails in her hair everyday of the week.
On a family lunch date at McAllisters.
On a family lunch date at Chili's after we went to the Pecan Festival.
See how cute her pigtails are!
Supper at Logan's.
Loving her Daddy (and her Miney)

My Uncle Josh's restaurant

We went to see our friends, the Rogers, in Lake Charles, LA.
We had the pleasure of eating at their restaurant, The Landing.
I really liked the macaroni. I don't like my Momma or Daddy to feed me anymore.
I can do it by myself.
I love food.
And when I'm finished eating, I love to rub my food in my hair.

Happy Birthday, James 3.22.09

James showing Rebekah around (and how to walk)Contemplating his cake.
Showing him how to do "cake"
He got it.
She's really enjoying it.
Socializing.
Acquiring some splinters.
Very determined.
James is the son of one of my close friends in Hattiesburg. He and Rebekah were born about two weeks apart. So close together in age, that I still wasn't allowed to drive when he was born. So I had to wait until he was home to meet him. And he is a precious boy.
Ask me if I still think he is precious when he is 15...

Rebekah and Luke's first birthday party

Rebekah's birthday was Tuesday. Luke's birthday was Sunday. So we celebrated together and with 14 other friends (and their parents) on Saturday. I think it is safe to say a good time was had by all.
We pushed aside the furniture and had a BIG play area inside and we did the same thing on the back porch.
Rebekah grinning at James.
Cupcakes...yummy!
Their cupcake cake.

Getting ready for cake.
Where is mine?
Finally, she got hers! And she wasn't letting anyone else get near it!Precious friends.
Getting icing from momma's finger
Getting icing off her ribbon
Luke got a wagon for his birthday. Enjoying a ride. Ty jumped in. The three amigos.

She loves balloons.

Our camera had an accident, so these pictures are courtesy of the Baileys and Cochrans.

A Blessing

I am very blessed to have a mother that offers to do really great wonderful things for me so I don't over stress and have to internally combust. One of the really wonderful things she has done is have a first birthday party for Rebekah in Jackson for our Jackson family and friends so I didn't have too....completely wonderful.
Without further delay, here are the birthday pictures and video.
Happy 1st Birthday, Rebekah!

A little song. I think someone needs a voice lesson or two.
I'm pretty sure that someone is me. Ouch! Mamie and Beks blow out the candle on her cake from Grandmother.
"Let's see if I can get some of that green stuff"

Refined Sugar...a first.

"Mamie! You have to try this stuff!"A first bite of ice cream....

I foresee lots of important talks over icecream in our future. YES!!!
Hanging out with Momma's other favorite while Mom finds some icing free clothes.
